How do I choose the right therapist?

Make sure you are visiting a business and therapist that is fully licensed and backed by professional accreditations.  This means they are reputable and have the experience to ethically practice massage for therapeutic purposes.  This is a general rule that applies to all services and health providers.
Then, make an appointment and discuss your goals with a therapist who makes you feel comfortable and will develop a session or treatment plan that honors your expectations.

Meet our Therapists!

Do I have to get naked?

Nope.  You are usually instructed to undress to your level of comfort.
Guests receiving massage services are invited to undress completely and many guests chose to leave on undergarments or clothing.  Regardless of your decision, a good therapist will ensure your comfort by using modest draping throughout your session.
A licensed massage therapist can adjust techniques and limit modalities to accommodate a guests therapeutic needs.  A massage therapist treats many different body shapes and sizes and likely thinks that every unique body is designed with purposeful attributes.

Does massage hurt?

“No pain, no gain” is the mantra of many athletes.  Massage therapists hear it all the time when guests request deep tissue massage services.  But, sometimes deep tissue massage doesn’t hurt and a light Swedish massage can.  Often enough, a guest may experience post-massage soreness or bruising in a muscle or joint.   This is more often experienced by those who don’t receive frequent massage, being treated for specific pain or an injury, on blood thinners, or elderly.
It is okay to ask a massage therapist to adjust pressure to assure your comfort.
Understand that a therapist will use their own discretion when applying firm or deep pressure per guest request.  A good therapist will not apply a pressure that can cause injury.

I am pregnant.  Can I get a massage?

Yes!  Yes!  Yes!  Massage is so healthy for you and your baby.  Massage can treat the back pain, cramping, restless legs, swelling, and discomfort associated with pregnancy.
Many massage therapists choose to become certified doulas and assist during the labor and birth process.  Most licensed massage therapists are happy to create a treatment place that facilitates prenatal and postnatal wellbeing.

I have cancer.  Can I get a massage?

Most licensed massage therapists will advise guests with cancer diagnosis to consult with a doctor or oncologist to determine if massage is contraindicated.  The health effects of some cancers, autoimmune diseases, allergies and infections can be reduced or increased depending on their nature.
Massage therapy stimulates the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid, and this can have a favorable or adverse effect.

But Lymphatic Massage!!!
Yes!!!  You know about massage and care about your health. Lymphatic Massage is great for those who experience fluid retention and swelling due to chronic infections and/or strain on internal organs.  It can help with post-surgical swelling and residual inflammation associated with acute injuries.  It is also great for people who have lymphedema after removal of lymph nodes or other cause.  Lymphatic massage is wonderful for those who want to promote a healthy integumentary system that can combat internal and external stressors.
Lymphatic massage is contraindicated for those experiencing acute allergic reactions and infections that travel through the lymphatic system.

Is massage affordable?

We think so.
Sometimes therapeutic massage is covered by health insurance; ask for a receipt or superbill to be reimbursed for treatment associated with a medical condition per doctor referral.  Massage costs an average $75-80 per hour of a licensed therapist’s expertise.
We think massage is the greatest gift you can give to promote lasting health.
